We carried on working with print in March - this time printing with a gelli plate.
If you've never heard of this or used one it's a soft, slightly squishy plate that allows you to layer colour and texture before taking a print. There are lots of demos on YouTube and articles you can search for if you are interested in learning more.
The joy of having a couple of hours to play with prints and the space to spread out in a warm, bright village hall cannot be emphasised enough. The whole group bounces off each other to an extent, picking up ideas and techniques to experiment with.

We were thin on the ground this month as there were only 3 of us. Life does get complicated sometimes.
The 3 of us spent the meeting working with the fabrics we had printed on a gelli plate in March. Back in January we had done some layering with transparent fabrics and stitch so we combined that with our printed fabrics. It’s early days but it was nice to sit and stitch while we chatted and put the world to rights.
